CHS Announces John Riedmiller as Next Head Boys and Girls Bowling Coach

Columbus High School Director of Athletics and Activities Tim Kwapnioski has announced the hiring of John Riedmiller as the next head coach of the Columbus Discoverers boys and girls bowling programs.
“I am thrilled to welcome John Riedmiller to the Discoverer Bowling family,” said Kwapnioski. “John brings extensive knowledge of bowling, a strong commitment to student-athlete development, and a passion for the sport. We are confident that Coach Riedmiller will foster a culture of excellence, sportsmanship, and teamwork while emphasizing fundamental lane mechanics, mental focus, and strategic spare conversions.”
Riedmiller takes over the program following the resignation of Bob Jaster, who announced his departure in September. Columbus High School extends its sincere appreciation to Jaster for his contributions to the Discoverer bowling program. As the program’s inaugural head coach, Jaster led the boys team to Class A state championships in 2024 and 2025. The school is grateful for his leadership and mentorship over the years and wishes him the best as he dedicates more time to his professional career.
Riedmiller brings a decade of coaching experience to the role, having served as a varsity assistant football coach and co-head powerlifting coach for the past 10 years. He has also been involved with the Discoverer baseball program for the past nine years, including the last three seasons as head coach. John currently teaches social studies at Columbus Middle School.
Columbus High School looks forward to Riedmiller’s leadership as he takes on this new role with the Discoverer boys and girls bowling programs.
